When Contact Helps
Contacting the priest is useful when your question is pastoral: conversion, Communion, confession, marriage, family complications, trauma, or serious anxiety about entering the church. Those conversations need care and context.
A Simple Message
You can write: "I am interested in visiting the Liturgy for the first time. Is there anything I should know, and may I introduce myself afterward?" That gives the priest enough information without turning the visit into an appointment.
